This is a post originally meant to go up in September last year, but I just finished it today, so enjoy! Day 1Today we flew to Hobart. We left home at about 11:30 am and made our way to the airport. Our flight was at 2:00 pm, so we left early to make sure we got there on time. Sadly, there had been an accident while we were on our way, making us get there later than expected. Once we got to the airport, the self check in machine said we couldn't check in, so we went to the counter to be checked in. After that we rushed through security and to the plane, as we were boarding. We got there just in time. Once we got on the plane, I was feeling a bit anxious about our flight and taking off. After we took off and were in the air, I felt calm and safe. Taking off is the worst part. We had a very smooth flight, with a great landing. Once we made it to Hobart, I was a bit hungry, as I didn't get time to have lunch before getting on the plane. So on the way to Cathy and Collin's we got some sushi. Once we got to Cathy and Collin's house we had dinner pretty soon after. We had a variety of meat and vegetables which was very yummy. For dessert we had lemon cheesecake, which I'm not the biggest fan of, but everyone else loved it. After dinner me and Lucienne went to bed as we were very tired from travelling. I watched a few episodes of pokemon, then I went to sleep. Day 2Today we went to the Salamanca Markets. I got up at about 9:30 and had breakfast. I had 2 pikelets with honey. After breakfast we got ready to go out to the markets. Once we got there we started looking at all the markets. There were so many markets, they went all the way down from the road to the sea. We looked around for a while, and bought a few things as we went. I got a potato scallop stick with garlic butter, which was really good. We also bought some fudge and honey, so that will be good to eat later. There was a lot of good food at the markets, but sadly I couldn't buy it all. I also found a Star Wars movie poster from The Return of The Jedi, so I bought that. After looking around the markets a bit more, we decided to go have some lunch. We went to this place called Frogmouth, which is a winery as well as a restaurant. Me and my mum shared the eye fillet steak and the sashimi. It was really good! We also got dessert, which was some assorted lemon things. After we finished eating, we went to a chocolate place, and I got a chocolate bear. Lucienne bought a jar of caramel sauce. After that we went to a winery, and everyone else tried some wine. Me and Lucienne went outside to look at the view and take some photos. Outside there were some peasant, and they were pretty cute. The view was really beautiful. After everyone finished tasting the wine, we went back to Cathy and Collin's house. We didn't do much, and then went out to dinner at 8:00 at a casino. I got a lamb rump, which was really good. After dinner we went outside for a little bit and walked around the restaurant back to the front. The view was really nice. After we got back from dinner, me and Lucienne went to bed. Day 3Today we went to the Mona Gallery. We got up at around 10:30 and had breakfast. We had bacon and eggs, which was really yummy. Then we got ready to go out to the gallery. Once we were ready, we set off for the gallery. It was a really beautiful place, with a great view of the city. Outside there were sculptures, a trampoline and bean bags. We had a look around at the sculptures, then went into the gallery. Once we got inside we went down a spiral staircase to the beginning of the exhibit. We were given an iPod with descriptions of the artworks on it to use as we walked around. I liked a lot of the artworks in the gallery, including one called "The Artefact" by Gregory Barsamian, "Fall" by Julius Popp and "Fat Car" by Erwin Wurm. There were some weird ones as well, but they made it more interesting. We looked around the gallery for a while, and saw the Cloaca Machine in action. It smelt really bad. We also went into a room full of flashing lights and loud sounds, which was pretty cool. The art was made from the sounds and vibrations. There was also a creepy binary code mini maze sort of thing, that had heaps of binary code on the walls and creepy words. It also had creepy music playing in the background and was quite dark. It was creepy, but cool. After looking in the gallery, we went back outside to wait for everyone else. We went back to one of the sculptures and sat down for a while. The granite chairs were surprisingly comfy. My dad was having a nap, so we decided to take a few photos of him. After that, we went back to the beanbags and lay down for a while. We also got some drinks and a snack to keep us going, as we didn't have lunch. We lay there for a while and it was very relaxing. After that we decided it was time to go back, and we started making our way home. Near our car was another sculpture of a car crashed into some concrete, so we thought that was quite funny. Once we got home, I played Pokemon for a bit, and then we went out for a walk with Sammy. The park we went to had a playground, so me and Lucienne tried playing on the equipment, but we were too big for it. There was even a flying fox, but my feet touched the ground the whole way, so that was disappointing. Then we headed back, and got ready to go out for dinner at Brunswick Pub. For dinner I had a chicken parmi with various meat and barbeque sauce. It was really good. I also played Pokemon Go for a bit, and caught a few good Pokemon. Then we went home and had Pavlova for dessert, which was really yummy. I was also patting all the animals, Lizzie and Larry (the cats) and Sammy (the dog) After that, me and Lucienne decided to go to bed, as we were quite tired. Day 4Today we left Cathy and Colin’s, and headed to Bruny Island. We got up at around 9 and had breakfast. I had two pikelets with honey. Then I had a shower and packed up my suitcase. After we were all ready to go, we headed down to the shops to get a few things before we left. After that, we said goodbye to everyone and left for Bruny. We then stopped at another set of shops, and we got a few more things. I got a Pokémon Go book, which has tips and tricks to playing the game. We then made our way to the ferry that would take us to Bruny Island. Once we got there we had time for lunch, I had fish and chips. There was also a Pokémon gym close by, so me and Lucienne got it a few times and put really bad Pokémon on it. After lunch we got on the ferry, which was a two-storey car ferry. It was pretty cool. Once we got on it only took about 20 minutes to get to the other side, and some of that was waiting for cars to get on and off. It took another hour to get to the house, and we had to stop on the way to get the key. The house had a very long drive way to get to it, but that was okay. My room has a queen sized bed which I am very happy about, as I only have a single at home. I also got a nice wardrobe which was good. The house is also very private, as there aren’t any houses near it. After we got there me and Lucienne made a funny dance routine to one of the songs, which was fun. Before dinner, we played a bit of scrabble, which I wasn’t very good at. It was still fun though. For dinner we had pork belly and vegetables, which was really yummy. We then played a bit of Australian monopoly, but it wasn’t very fun, so we stopped playing. We then decided to watch Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix. Lucienne and mummy both went to bed, so it was just me and daddy. About 10 minutes in though, he fell asleep. So it was just me. By the time it finished it was about 12 am, so I decided to get ready for bed. I played a bit of Pokémon first, and got another gym badge. By the time I’d done that it was 1, so I thought I should go to sleep. Day 5Today we went to explore the island. When I woke up it was about 9, and the sun was shining through my blinds. I then got up to have breakfast, which was bacon and eggs. We then got ready to go out, and I played some more Pokémon. We then set off to Adventure Bay to try and see the Albino Wallabies. The beach was really beautiful and the water was really clear. Once we got there, we went on a little bush walk to where they would be. We then realised that you could only see them at dusk during feeding time. It was about 2 at that point, so we just went back to the beach. Me and Lucienne tried to skip some rocks, but failed. We also found some hard, black seaweed, which was interesting. Once we were back on the beach, I decided to have a paddle in the water, as it looked so nice. It was really cold and my feet felt numb, but it was worth it. I could honestly say it was the most beautiful beach I have seen. After walking down the beach, we left to go get some more supplies. We stopped off at a chocolate shop, where we bought a rocky road, fudge and chocolate animals. We also didn’t have lunch, so we stopped off somewhere else and we got hot chips. We got a small, but it was really massive. Then we headed back to the house. Before we had dinner, me, Lucienne and mummy played a game called buggo, which was really funny. To play there were tiles with 1,2 or 3 bugs on them and cards with an amount of bugs you had to find. So if you got a 3 then you had to find 3 bugs. But if you found buggo, a spider, then you have to put a tile back. For dinner we had steak and vegetables. It was really good. The steak was a great piece of meat, so it cooked well. After dinner we played some more scrabble where I sadly came third out of four. We then decided to watch Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead mans chest. Everyone either went to bed or fell asleep again. But it was quite funny. After the movie finished it was about 11:30, so I decided to go to bed. Day 6Today we went to the Bruny Lighthouse and the beach. We also tried to see penguins. For breakfast I had bacon and eggs, which was really good. We then started to make our way to the lighthouse. On the way we stopped at a viewing point to have a look at the view. It was very nice. When we were in the car we also saw a wedge tailed eagle! We then kept going until we made it to the lighthouse. It was very pretty, and we had to walk up some stairs to get to the great view. There weren't any tours on which was a shame, but it was still really nice. Once we got to the top, the view was really nice. You could see all around the top of the mountain, and all the cliffs around it as well. The water was a really nice blue colour, and it was great. There were little paths on the side of the lighthouse, so we walked down those. There were a lot of bumble bees around, and they were really big. But they were very cute. After looking around for a while, we decided to head down to a beach. When we got to the beach I took my shoes off straight away and got into the water. It was pretty cold at first, but I got used to it. The water was also really beautiful and clear, which made me want to swim in it more. But I didn't pack any swimmers of course. After paddling for a bit, me and Lucienne decided to see who could make the biggest sand ball. The procedure to make one is very easy, get some wet sand and form a ball. Then go to the dry sand and completely cover the wet sand so it goes hard. Get more wet sand and build up on the ball. Put more dry sand on it, and then repeat these steps until it gets as big as you want. Then we throw it into the sea. We then decided to make a sandman using this method. Mummy found a few things on the beach to decorate it as me and Lucienne made the body. We ended up making two sandmen and they turned out pretty good. After we finished up with that, we went back to the house and got changed. We then had steak sandwiches for lunch, using the leftover steak from the night before. After we finished lunch we went to got see the penguins. It was a little bit before sunset when we got there. There was a massive stair way up the hill to a viewing area, so we went up there first. It was really nice up there, and it was even better as the sun was setting. We then went back down to the penguin viewing area, and waited hoping the penguins would come out. It started getting very cold and dark, and sadly there were no penguins in sight. But I did see a LOT of bats. Every second one would fly over us. I thought that was still pretty cool. We then decided it was too cold, and people had said the penguins probably weren't coming, so we headed to dinner. We went to the Bruny Pub for dinner, which was pretty good. I got calamari and chips, and it was massive. I didn't get to finish it all because it was so big. After dinner we went back home. I packed my bag and organised my clothes for the next day. After that we watched some TV, including the Paul Hogan show, which was interesting. After watching that we decided to go to bed. Day 7Today we flew back to Sydney and went shopping. In the morning we got up at about 8 so we would be ready to leave by 10. We had toast for breakfast and I had honey on mine. We packed up all our things and by the time we were ready it was about 9:30 so we would have time to get the 10:30 ferry back to Hobart. Once we got in the car the trip took about an hour to get to the ferry, and then we got on. We were at the top again so that was good. Even though it was cloudy and windy, there was still a nice view from the ferry. Once we got back to Hobart we had a lot of time before our flight, which was at four thirty. So we decided to go to Salamanca and look at the shops around there. I bought a crocodile pen in this big toy store, which I thought was pretty cool. For lunch I had a pulled pork burger and chips. It was really good. After lunch we went to look at more shops, and we met up with Cathy for a bit as well. I got some high waisted denim shorts. By the time we were finished it was time to go to the airport. The airport is very small so it was quick to get through security and check in. We didn't have to wait too long until the plane was there, so that was good. I wasn't as anxious as last time which was good, as the last flight had been really good. This flight wasn't that great because of takeoff. It was quite windy, so the plane bumped a bit as we were going up. The landing was really good though and I was relieved and happy to be home.
