So this post will be divided into two sections: How to use a journal to study and easy study tools. Part 1: How to use a journal to studyYou can a journal from places like Kikki K, Typo and Officeworks, but you can get cheaper ones from Kmart or Target. Mine is from Kikki K and it was $33. You can also use the diary you get from school, but I like this one better. -Plan ahead If you are going to be busy the week before the test, make sure you try plan when you are going to study for the test. If you don't plan a few weeks before, then you might get busy and not study. You can put it in your diary highlighted so you remember. -Have a weekly schedule This is sortove like the last tip, but plan when you're gonna study for the whole week. For instance I have dance on Monday, Thursday and Friday nights. So I need to find time between the activities, so I can study for tests. -Make to do lists This is good to do as soon as you get home from school, so you can set goals and hopefully complete them. Part 2: Easy Study ToolsThe first three of these are apps and the other two are just tips. 1. Momentum This app is really good because it can help you achieve your goals and make habits. You could add studying maths every Tuesday for a month. This could help you prepare for upcoming tests. The only downside is that you can only put 5 goals into the app. 2. Flashcard Hero I have mentioned this app before, but it's very good, so i thought I would talk about it again. On this app you can create flashcards, without cutting up heaps of paper and spending ages making them. It is available across all apple devices (including mac computers), but I'm not sure about android. 3. Self Control This app is only available on Mac computers. This app lets you block any websites that might distract you from studying. You can set it for a certain time, and even if you delete the app, they will still be blocked for the certain amount of time. if you search up Self Control app, it should come up. More tips!
-Give yourself breaks Every now and then you need to give yourself a break. This could be anything from checking instagram, watching an episode of your favourite show, or just getting a snack. You could study for an hour and then have a 10-20 minute break. But make sure you don't give yourself too many breaks. -Use a folder to carry all you assignment sheets This is very easy and effective. Whenever you're given a new task, put it in the folder so you can keep track of where it is. When you hand in the task, you can take out the sheet.

Today I'm going to tell you a few things you can do to prepare for the first day of school. 1. Meditate the night beforeMeditating before bed the night before school has many benefits. If you are stressed for school, then this could help you calm down. If you are stressed it will be really hard to sleep. If you calm yourself down then you can hopefully get enough sleep for the next day. I linked a 5 minute meditation session below. Even if you aren't in school anymore, this could still help you. I haven't personally tried this one, but a lot of the comments are very positive. 2. Pack your bag the night before and lay out your clothesThis is good because you are most likely going to wake up late for the first day of school. So packing your bag is one less thing to worry about. Laying out your clothes is also good because if you don't know exactly where your uniform is, you don't have to search for it the next morning. You can spend more time sleeping as well. 3. Make folders for all your subjectsThis is very easy to do and helps you get organised for the school year ahead. So on the first day of school, you can easily save files into organised files, so you can actually find them later. On Apple computers, you can make the folders into emojis. I will leave a link below on how to do that. 4. Have a pamper night before schoolThis is good because your skin will look great on the first day of school and you will be relaxed the night before. Here are a few products I recommend using: -Beauty and me cucumber lime face peel (so fun to use) -The Body Shop warming mineral mask -Chapstick night repair lip treatment -EOS handcream -Lush bubblegum lip scrub -The Body Shop shimmer lotion 5. Bring a small notebook and folder for the first dayIf you don't know what books you're gonna need for the year, then I recommend just bringing a notebook and a folder for the first day. You can put papers in the folder and write notes in the notebook. You could even use the folder for the whole year. I will be doing this in 3 parts: -The front pocket (which includes the front pouch and zipper at the front) -What's in my essentials bag (which is in the front pocket) -And the back pocket. The bag I have is a Jansport Right Pack in the colour Viking Red. Part 1: The Front PocketThis includes: -A calculator -My essentials bag -Headphones -Some fun things in a union jack purse -Mentos mints strawberry flavour -Mentos bubble fresh gum -My planner stickers -My house keys -My wallet -My coin purse -Tissues (I put these in later) Part 2: What's in my Essentials BagThis includes: -A hair brush -Oil blotting sheets -Travel body lotion -Mascara -Cheap roller ball perfume -Bobby Pins -Hand sanitiser -A bandaid -EOS lip balm -2 hair ties Part 3: The Back PocketThis includes: -My lunchbox (school lunch ideas will be coming soon!) -An A5 notebook -An A4 notebook -My planner (from Kikki K) -My pencil case -An umbrella -A book (I have the Maze Runner) -My laptop -A drink bottle (I have a Brita filtered one) -A spare bag A few things I have shown that I keep in my bag, are also in the Back to School category, so if you're interested in making any of the DIY's, you can find them there.
